First GBU/WIBF Convention!

 

Successful meeting held  in Dusseldorf, Germany.

The first GBU/WIBFConvention, hosted by Spotlight and Universum who holds the most of their champions, was held last Saturday at the Maritim hotel in Dusseldorf. The meeting was opened by WIBF President Barbara Buttrick followed by GBU President Jurgen Lutz. Several items have been discussed during this one day event and attended by delegates from various nations. Among them representatives from Africa, Israel, France, Holland and a big delegation headed by Freddy Slock from Belgium. What could probably be considered as the main topic of this successful Convention is that in the next 12 months will be considered to change the championships distance from 10X2 to 10X3 or from 10 rounds to 12 rounds. A commission headed by Jurgen Lutz and Marcel Niessen will investigate if this move is favorable to womens boxing. The GBU and WIBF are considered worldwide as the leading federations in female boxing.
